Black Panthers Billy "X" Jennings and Emory Douglas visited  Derry  on  Tuesday 4th Nov. 08.

The visit was part of the "Spirit of '68"  40th  anniversary  events in Derry.

The evening  was introduced by  Bernadette Devlin McAliskey  who  reminisced about a trip to New York in the '60s when she met and felt an  immediate rapport with members of the Black Panther Party.

When she was  presented with "The Keys to New York City" she passed them to Eamonn McCann who on a subsequent trip presented them to the Black Panther Party.

Then there were talks by  Emory Douglas about - his artwork and  Billy "X" Jennings - about the Black Panther Party archive.

This was followed by a  panel discussion with Billy "X" Jennings and Emory Douglas chaired by Eamonn McCann.
