This panorama is dominated by the people passing along New Market Street past Badgers Pub moving between Foyleside Shopping Centre, St Columbs Hall, the Millennium Forum and the Richmond Shopping Centre.
Newmarket Street was created in the nineteenth century to service the busy Linen Market. It remains the only breach in the walls other than the gates.
Looking up the hill we are looking along the walls towards Ferryquay Gate. To the right of the walls at that point the Rialto Entertainment Centre can be seen - better known to many Derry people as "The ABC Cinema". It has since been demolished.
Having passed the Rialto, the Richmond Centre and the Millennium Forum we are again looking along the walls this time down hill towards The Water Bastion on Foyle Street.
Then passing St Columb's Hall (now home to The Play House Theatre during its renovations) we return to the opening view.
